Don’t Know What These Are Either

But they were pretty too.

I’ve No Idea

What they are, or kind of of shrub this is. Just loved the autumn colored seeds.

Pumpkin Tea

Happy All Saint’s Day.

In a few weeks, I’ll be going back and removing all the Halloween posts that aren’t music or my photos, so reblog now if you want them.

I’ve seen a few cute ideas for more subtle Halloween decorating ideas around lately, primarily through Pinterest, and thought I’d give them a try this year. I like the look of them so I thought I’d share.

I used hurricane jars for these, but any suitably large glass vase will do, and you can find a large selection of them in pretty much any thrift store.

The first is simply filling a jar up a little ways with Halloween candy – I used candy corn, obviously; I think the seasonal candies like this or mallowcreme pumpkins look good – and popping some candles into the candy. I think it looks a little better if the candles stand at varying heights, but you can do anything you like with it. You can use pillars, votives, anything really.

The other idea is to collect some twigs and sticks and pop them into a vase with some miniature pumpkins. I have a horror of bugs, so I rinsed the twigs first, but I might be a little OCD.

These are something a little different from my usual decorations, and a change is nice once in a while.

Bless ‘em, they never seem to care who’s wandering around taking pictures of their food.

It’s funny, I don’t feel the need to apologize when I shoot building after building. Just when I shoot flower after flower or grave after grave.

Back to the sunshine … for as long as it lasts. In Ohio, that won’t likely be long. At least there’s been some rain lately as a consolation for the chill. This fine, sunny November morning, it is 40 degrees.

This one has been posted around Tumblr before, back in 2009. I was so proud! Still am. Just imagine my face, as I was driving through the cemetery and saw this. :D
